Jetstone end user licence

Draft. This document is under review by an Australian legal practitioner and is not in force.

Version 2026-10-30

This licence covers the Jetstone software you install: the Windows agent, the mobile app and the desktop app. It forms part of the Jetstone subscription terms at /legal/terms/.

1. Licence

1.1 Black Shard Pty Ltd grants the business that holds a Jetstone workspace a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and run the Jetstone agent on the number of devices its subscription covers, and the mobile and desktop apps on the devices of the people it invites to the workspace, for the term of the subscription.

1.2 The licence ends when the subscription ends. The agent then stops reporting and can be removed through Windows Settings or with msiexec.

2. What you may not do

You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the software except as the law allows despite this restriction; remove or alter its signatures or notices; use it to monitor a device or account you are not authorised to monitor; or run it to build a competing product.

3. What the agent does on a device

3.1 The agent runs as a Windows service with system privileges. It reads operating system events, sends them to Jetstone over an encrypted connection authenticated by a certificate unique to the device, and carries out the actions your workspace policy allows: stopping processes, quarantining files and isolating the device from the network. Each action can be undone.

3.2 The agent updates itself from Black Shard's signed update channel. An update is installed only when its signature verifies.

4. Open source components

The software includes open source components. Their licences are listed in the THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES file installed beside the agent and in the apps' About screens.

5. Warranty and liability

The warranties and limits of liability in the Jetstone subscription terms apply to the software. Nothing in this licence excludes a guarantee or remedy under the Australian Consumer Law.

6. Export

You confirm you will not use the software in breach of Australian sanctions or export control laws.
